An Apple Human Interface Guidelines-inspired, privacy-first mobile companion engineered in Flutter for Nigerian tertiary students. Enables zero-interest loan verification, 10% statutory post-NYSC salary deduction simulations, and comprehensive statutory guidance with 100% on-device offline processing and zero personal data collection.
Strategic Challenge & Operational Requirements
When the Federal Government of Nigeria enacted the landmark Students Loans Act 2024, millions of tertiary students faced severe information asymmetry. Complex statutory repayment formulas, widespread confusion about the ₦20,000 monthly upkeep stipend vs institutional tuition fees, and rampant data privacy concerns caused friction for eligible students across 36 states.
Engineered Architecture & Implementation
Architected and built My NELFund as a standalone, zero-telemetry mobile companion. Built using Flutter with an authentic Cupertino design system, on-device financial simulation engines, offline SQLite knowledge stores, and zero requirement for sensitive identifiers like BVN or NIN. Successfully deployed and approved on both the Apple App Store and Google Play Store.
